Our minted hogget burgers make for a fabulous burger night with a difference. Perfect simply pan fried or throw them on the BBQ!

WHAT IS HOGGET?!

Hoggett is a lamb that is aged between one and two years old. The extra time on the fields allows it to develop a far richer depth of flavour but not as strong as mutton.

Lamb in the UK would traditionally have been eaten at the hoggett stage before the modern introduction of ‘Spring Lamb’ which was made possible with commercial sheep breeding programmes. Allowing lambs to be finished far quicker.

We like to think of it as ‘lamb that has had a life well lived, walked many miles and seen the change of several seasons’.
