Truro Farmers Market named in ‘the times’ top 20 farmers markets in the uk

I can’t quite believe that we have been a part of the Truro Farmer’s Market for a whole year and in the same week as the market is ranked in the top 20 farmer’s markets in the UK by The Times Newspaper.

Never did we think that we would have a weekly pitch under the much coveted green and white canvas on Lemon Quay in Truro.

Over the past year it has been such a joy to build up relationships with so many lovely regular customers, chatting all things beef. I love nothing more that discussing recipe ideas or hearing about delicious meals that were cooked up from last week’s purchases. It’s also so special to be feeding so many holiday makers who are visiting Cornwall with some truly local beef.

I have to say a huge thank you to the whole farmer’s market team who have made me feel so welcome from day one. The ‘tent chaps’ who help me loading and unloading my fridge each week – always my knights in shining armour! The fabulous other traders who have become firm friends and of course to all my wonderful customers and supporters of the market.

If you haven’t ever visited the market I really would urge you to, it is full to bursting with truly local produce and the stalls are manned by the people behind each and every product. Treat yourself to some on the go street food from likes of Daddy D’s Carribean Kitchen, a coffee from Morgan of Landmark Coffee. Delicious Italian deli treats from Valentina of La Pineta Deli, a jar of tiramisu from Ugo and Laura of The Cornish Italian. Fresh bread and bakery treats from David, fresh oragnic fruit and veg from Goonown Growers and honey from Heather. Or a tipple from Gould’s Cider, Cookoo Valley Cider, Gin and Rum from Rosemullion Distillery, beers from Driftwood Spars or a bottle of Gin from Elemental Cornish Gin. Plus there is Cornish cheese, Indian treats, cookies, fresh fish, olives, fermented foods, soap, plants, chillies and so so so much more!!

I’m very much looking forward to another year of ‘beefing’ in Truro every Saturday!!
